Over 11,000 public marriages recorded into permanent record every year

SAN FRANCISO, CA -- San Francisco has always been a leader in recognizing love is love, no matter what shape or color it comes. On the day before Valentine’s Day, Assessor Carmen Chu shares San Francisco’s official marriage data over the past decade with a love report.

Assessor Chu said, “On this day of love, I like to celebrate the leadership San Francisco played in pushing for marriage equality over the last few years. We’ve seen a significant increase in recorded marriages here – a sign that love is alive and well in San Francisco.”
