In the next few weeks, the Office of the Assessor-Recorder will transition to a new main office phone number, 628-652-8100. For the 12 months following this transition, constituents who call the Office’s prior phone number will automatically be transferred to our new line. The Assessor-Recorder has the following responsibilities:

  • Locate all taxable property in the county.
  • Establish a taxable value for all property subject to property taxation.
  • List the value of all property on the assessment roll.
  • Apply all legal exemptions.
  • Maintain public records.
  • Collect city revenues from the recording of legal documents.
  • Conduct fair and efficient assessments.
  • Improve Customer Services and Technology.
  • Ensure equality in all assessments.

Racial Equity Action Plan

The Office of the Assessor-Recorder's Racial Equity Action Plan aims to proactively advance equity in the Department's internal and external work including recruitment, culture, training, community engagement, advocacy, and the review and evaluation of our operations. Our work is guided by our Racial Equity Action Plan. 

The Phase One Equity Action Plan recommends strategies to advance racial equity in six core areas:
