ASSESSOR CARMEN CHU TO HOST ONLINE FINANCIAL FORUM TOMORROW

Help Families Build Their Financial Resilience under COVID-19

SAN FRANCISCO --Assessor Carmen Chu hosted a free online financial forum on July 18, 2020, from 10am to 1pm, to help families build their financial resilience under COVID-19. Financial experts, such as CPA, certified financial planner and estate planning attorney, were invited to speak and answered over 90 questions on a wide range of topics, including immediate financial assistance for homeowners and families, estate planning (including advanced health directives) under a pandemic, as well as personal finance management, such as accessing retirement plan funds and managing mortgage forbearance. See below for the recording of the event.

The 2020 Family Wealth Forum (originally scheduled for May 2, 2020 at Balboa High School) has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Our office had quickly decided to move our signature event online this year as we understand credible financial information is more important now during an active pandemic where families are struggling from job loss and other concerns. The event, named "Build Your Financial Resilience" offered a series of panel discussions and presentations to help families get back on their feet under the COVID-19 crisis while continue to build their family's financial future.
